The Wireless Capability Module has been carefully designed so as to facilitate an efficient transfer of data between the information server stationed in the company and the driver's hand held device so that the entire shipment process is carried out in the most accurate and delay-free manner. The architecture of the wireless capability software ensures that the unit functions in tandem with other modules and also to add-ins that could be incorporated at a later stage.
The wireless capability software for truckers helps run the business in real time. Let us see the functioning of the module in brief. As the driver is on his way to the point of pick up, the dispatcher prepare the loads for the drivers and upload the pick up details in to the driver's hand held device (Cell phone, PDA or Pocket PC or tablet PC). The driver picks up the shipment, verifies it and set off to the destination. After successful delivery, he obtains the customer's signature using stylus open (Signature Capture) and proof of delivery (POD) as a confirmation to the service done.
Once obtained the signature and POD information, he then uploads it in to the information server from the hand held device. The user can now use this information to change the shipment status to “Delivered” and take it off the open dispatch list, indicating a finished deal. The stored information can also be used to invoice the customer or to send the POD confirmation – both of these can send by email or fax directly from the system.
The wireless capability software for truckers is also open to customization to suit the business model of a particular customer.
