Car entry module in an auto transportation software handles car details and provides the current status information about a car in selection, in the on going business process. It also accesses the setup section for information regarding the current vehicle.
Car entry software for auto transporters facilitates the user on the desk to enter a new car, edit an existing one or delete a car that is not invoiced yet. Also, he can group together cars under a single order for discount purposes if they have a common origin and destination. There is no numerical limit to the number of cars that can be listed under such a group.
With the car entry program, the rates can be populated automatically or manually, as demanded by the requirement. It also has choices to re-calculate the rates for overweight and over-height cars. A problem car (car that cannot be moved) can be remarked here about the reason why it cannot be moved.
Also detailed information about the cars can be entered in this section, which includes VIN#, make, model, color and year. The vendor in fact has tied up with a company that decodes VIN numbers. If given the VIN, the system searches the internet and populates all necessary fields (make, model, weight, height, type, and no of doors) and is then displayed on the screen. To avail this facility, the customer needs to sign up with the 3rd party company that provides the decoded VIN information. The back end and the required interface between the information servers of both sides are already in place.
Open quotations can be viewed from a dropdown list – the list is populated with quotations which are inputted by the site visitors. Once a quotation has been selected and saved, the system informs the concerned customer about the process of their order via an email message.
With the software, the cars can be searched by VIN, load, customer reference, make, and model. If there is more than one match, a list dialog will appear on the screen displaying all the cars that confirms with the search criteria specified. The car entry module also facilitates its user to create an open car report (lists cars that are not invoiced yet), the car report that lists all cars for a customer and the pickup and delivery location for a selected time period, and the list of all problem cars.
Car entry software for auto transporters has been scrupulously designed to be dynamic and compatible across other modules. Also it is flexible enough for new plug-ins that might be required for an additional function, at a later point of time.
